What are Pot Odds?
Pot Odds are the ratio between the current pot size and the amount you need to pay to call. It's the most important tool for making profitable decisions in the long run!
Basic Formula
Pot Odds = Pot Size : Amount Required to Call
Or as percentage: (Amount to call ÷ (Pot + Amount to call)) × 100
Simple Example:

- • Opponent bet: 50 chips

- • You need: 50 chips to call

Meaning: You need to win once every 4 times (25%) to be profitable

Implied Odds - Next Level

• But: If you hit, opponent will pay you 200+ additional
Implied Odds make the call profitable even if Pot Odds are bad!
When are Implied Odds High?
- Opponent has large stack remaining
- Your hand is "hidden" (Set, Straight) not obvious (Flush)
- Opponent is weak player who pays a lot
- You're in good position
